The Alcazaba de Antequera is a medieval Moorish fortress that dominates the skyline of Antequera, a historic town in the Málaga province of Andalusia, Spain.

Historical Background
Origins: Built in the 14th century on the site of earlier Roman and Visigothic fortifications.

Purpose: Served as a military stronghold for the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada to defend against Christian advances during the Reconquista.

Reconquest: Captured by Castilian forces in 1410 under Infante Ferdinand of Trastámara.

Design: Typical of Moorish defensive architecture, with thick stone walls, watchtowers, and inner courtyards.
