Loud powerful microphone preamp. Very subtle coloration, don't expect anything extreme here. Works with any passive microphone and shields it INSTANTLY and FULLY from any DC voltage coming from your phantom power. One of the smallest mic preamps, even within its compact class. It's a must-have for us, and we shall never leave it.

multimeter tested, reduces 48VDC to 0.000 VDC in under 1 second

The Test:
By far the most important task of a mic preamp, be it outboard as ours or integrated in your interface is increasing signal gain. Without sufficient signal gain (regardless of reason: low output mic, low gain preamp, low settings to prevent clipping, etc.) you WILL HAVE NOISE, once you amplify everything in post to get your recording to its maximum level without clipping. To this end, the test features THE EXACT SAME amount of gain on our interface for both recordings, for you to understand how extremely important mic preamp gain is.

In short: lower mic preamp gain = louder noise!
