"Central Asia in the Changing World" Central Asia has been a significant region in both the historical and contemporary geopolitics as well as geo-economics. Pakistanis being only close neighbors but "blood relatives" to the Central Asians in the words of Dr. Ahmed Hasan Dani - the renowned scholar on the region, have been profoundly affected by the developments in Central Asia. In this context the one-day conference on "Central Asia in the Changing World' organized by ICWAS has been designed to encompass various socio-economic and political patterns within and across the region in both its historical and modern scenarios with specific focus on its relation to Pakistan.
