Описание к видео Pediatrician and Child Expert Talks to Kids about How Life is Different with COVID-19 Pandemic

Hi Kids. Today’s show is for you!

I know this coronavirus thing is a huge bummer. But we can all help do our part to decrease risk of catching the virus and still get back to fun activities in a “new” way. Let’s talk about activities, camp and school and how things will be a little different.

When you’re outside, staying at least an arms-distance away from friends or inside wearing a mask, helps protect you from the virus. Many fun summer outdoor activities are still happening, but with a few changes. You or your parents will be asked some health questions when you arrive, and you may have your temperature checked with a no touch thermometer (it doesn’t hurt, I promise!). You should wash or sanitize your hands before and frequently during activities and you will be asked not to get too close to your friends. So as long as you and your friends can stretch their arms out and spin around like a helicopter, then you are a safe distance away from each other. You also may be asked not to share toys and supplies with friends, and your friend group may rotate each day which activity it’s your turn to play. Today you may get the playground and tomorrow a different group gets the playground. This is all to help prevent kids from getting sick.

Face masks are also important to help protect you and your friends from germs that can make you sick and may be required when you return to school. And you may be surprised that you can still meet new friends and recognize old friends, even with masks on!

Here is how to use it:

Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
The side of the mask with the stiff bendable edge is the top and is meant to mold to the shape of your nose.
The colored or pattern side of the mask is usually the front and should face away from you.
Hold the mask by the ear loops. Place a loop around each ear.
Mold or pinch the stiff edge to the shape of your nose.
Make sure mask fits over your mouth and chin.

How to remove a face mask:

Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer before touching the mask.
Avoid touching the front of the mask which may be contaminated with germs.
Hold both of the ear loops and gently lift and remove the mask.
Put your mask in a bag or hang it on your wrist between use.
Wash cloth masks at end of day for use the next day.

We’ve talked about many ways to help protect you from coronavirus, but still get you back to having fun and seeing friends. If you have any questions, ask your parents. I’m here to help too!

Have a safe and fun summer and hope you get back to school soon!

Dr. Tanya
