Yes. Because Ukrainians are literally fighting and dying for their choice to be part of the European Society. So will the European Society, meaning the European Union not invite them not to accept them, they will feel abandoned and it will be detrimental for Ukraine. But I hope that there will be enough political will to put it through. Of course it's up to member states to have agreement on that.

Honestly, I'm quite optimistic after the recent visit of three European leaders into Kyiv, which all of them stated they support the candidate status for Ukraine. So this brings me a lot of optimism. If this matter would not be that this kind of statement, I would be fighting for that as much as possible.

But we have to reflect that the Ukraine is in war. In war, in which Putin wages to build his imperium, and Ukraine doesn't want to be part of this Russian imperial. So this is a special situation and we have to reflect this. This is a political decision and of course it means that Ukraine will have to fulfil all criteria to become a full member. This is always added to the fact that we will be that the Ukraine will be providing provided with the candidacy status.
