I wanted to address a topic that's painfully close to many artists' hearts and wallets – the age-old problem of being offered 'exposure' or painfully low payment in exchange for our skills and time. From passionate beginners to seasoned professionals, many creatives encounter clients or individuals who undervalue their work, often expecting top-tier results for what amounts to far below minimum wage.

Now, I get it. Art is subjective, the economy is awful, and without the proper knowledge, it's hard to put a tangible price on creativity. But just like any other profession, artists need to pay bills, buy supplies, and, you know, eat! Plus, the years of honing our craft, the countless hours spent perfecting every detail, and the unique vision we bring to the table (not to mention if you're like me and actually went ot school for it)? That's worth something, and it's certainly worth more than just 'exposure.'

I just wanted to share some personal experiences, discussing the real-world implications of undervaluing artists, and offer some tips for clients on how to approach pricing and negotiations in a fair, respectful manner. Remember, mutual respect and understanding form the basis of any successful collaboration!
