There are a lot of questions about what will happen with the Welcome Corps in 2025. There is a lot that we don’t know but here are some things that we do know. This information is from a Welcome.net phone call from November 15, 2024:

The first is that the president decides every year how many refugees are allowed into the United States.

The second is that the president’s administration will decide if the Welcome Corps will continue.

The third is that the president does not decide who has refugee status. The president cannot take away someone’s refugee status.

We know that this is not a lot of information, but at this time, this is all that we can confidently say. We know there will be changes in 2025.
