Episode 1:
Taking place in the early years of Batman's journey, where many people still consider him a myth, a series of explosions lead the Caped Crusader on a hunt to find the hidden crime boss behind these attacks. While investigating, Batman (Hamish Linklater) is caught by one of these explosions but escapes. Batman later finds out the name of the hidden crime boss after interrogating someone who worked for them, The Penguin (Minnie Driver). On the Iceberg Lounge yacht, Bruce Wayne goes to investigate The Penguins operations,, however he must get away as The Penguin is on route. Tipped off that one of her sons sold her out, she dumps one into the ocean. Turns out it was her other son who sold her out, leading to a car chase with The Penguins goons, Barbara (Krystal Joy Brown), and the son. Batman comes to save the two, revealing himself to Barbara, who thought he was merely a myth. The Penguin plans on blowing up GCPD. Batman attempts to thwart her but she succeeds. Luckily, Commissioner Gordon (Eric Morgan Stuart) and Barbara successfully clear out GCPD. With The Penguin apprehended, Batman and Alfred (Jason Watkins) realize that they’ve left a power vacuum for other bosses to fill. The episode ends with Batman telling Alfred how he failed the day.
