Finally a V2 of the long awaited Driver Unity Remake!

Even it is still buggy in many ways i decided to now upload a second Prototype.
There is indeed much more planned but not sure what will come in the next build.

This version has a Controls.txt so you know the basic controls.
Also there is an About.txt that contains the following:

New Stuff:
-An option to disable the "flash/blink" in the main menu because it can be a little annoying if you navigate the menus in the dark
-An option to set a max count for traffic spawned cars (max 200 what will lag if if increased to even just 50-100)
-SFX and Music test volume option in main menu/pause menu
-Improvements to the main menu selection movement
-Traffic lights (prototype)
-Exiting and entering cars
-Car select (some cars and selection images are still missing)
-Multiplayer and traffic spawn for second player (Beta)
-Weather select (Rain, Thunder and Snow)
-Trees for a few more maps (mainly Miami, Desert and some in San Francisco)
-Different Vehicle light function (still weird rendered but better as it was before)
-Few fixes, improvements to the paths in Miami
-Helicopters (not working in multiplayer for Player 2)
-San Francisco Trams
-Vehicle Shadow (weird rendered sometimes)
-UI scaling fixed (UI will now work even with 4K resolution)
-And more


Known bugs:
-Enabling certain cheats will break car exit (will be looked into in later versions)
-Helicopters do not have input functions for the second player so they may only be used by player 1 in multiplayer
-Some Miami paths are not yet connected in some areas
-Selecting vehicles that do not exist will instead select the Miami Cop as a placeholder (what prevents the game from breaking)
-Menu selection may not show up sometimes in some menus (move back to first selection to make it appear again)
-San Francisco Trees have the wrong tree shadow (trees are simply just a test in this version)
-If Thunder is selected, it will take some time for lighting to match the actual brightness (since it is a test prototype function)
-Only one Audio listener can hear sound by default in Unity (so only one vehicle will be heard if played Multiplayer)
-Night rain sky texture has a darker texture and other sky textures are not yet implemented
-I allowed most of the vehicles to be spawned as traffic (this also includes untextured vehicles)
-Most of the DRIVER 2 maps are simply not finished or have missing map regions (will be fixed someday)
-Night versions of DRIVER 2's maps are not yet added
-Multiplayer will break if Player 2 exists and enters any car since this is not fully implemented yet (driving around will work)
-Traffic chasing AI is now a little dumber because of the changed vehicle Prefabs (This will indeed be fixed someday)
-There is this bug if you exit/enter many cars that the exit camera get's stuck (if this won't go away, a game restart is needed)
-Lens flares for cars are a little too big yet and may not render as they should (because it is a test)
-Camera positions for many vehicles are also misplaced in this version
-Maps may still be a little too big especially for DRIVER 2 maps
-Vehicles often loose their path (mainly bigger vehicles)
-Possibly a lot more

Copyright and other stuff:
This Remake uses a "simplified version" of Saarg's "Arcade Car Physics" (free version).
I do not own any of the models and textures used in this Remake.
If interested some may mess with the scripts inside this build but please do not use any of the scripts or parts of it for your own projects even if i make this Project for free (especially if you try to make paid games).
Who knows if i ever make another Project or game using the same scripts as i used here.
This project will always be a free side project and i do not want any money for anything i make for it. (what would be not legal also)
This also means, any updates made can take a long time since i do not work always on the Project.
This project is mainly also used so i learn to understand how to do stuff in Unity.
No idea if the Project itself will ever be released (At the time this build was uploaded) since it takes a long time adding and fixing all the stuff.
More stuff is indeed planned but it is unknown what the next version will contain.


Lets see when V3 will come since i recently mostly worked on V2 and it is a lot of work.
It sure will take some time, but I'm sure i will add even more.
Well, if you compare V1 with V2, there is a lot more added and more to do.
So that means V3 will have a lot more for sure.
