If carbon dioxide markets in the US and Europe have endured a tumultuous time of supply-demand imbalance over the last 24 months, then helium markets have certainly raised this hand for far longer, and on a global basis.

Helium Shortage 4.0 still endures today, now moving into its second year and more than 12 months since the market widely anticipated it would be brought to a swift end. This comes hot on the heels of Helium Shortage 3.0 and its 2.0 namesake prior to that. It’s been a tough decade for helium supply. All of which begs the question, what could 2023 have in store for the global helium business?
