When driving a manual car, why does my car jerk when I change gear? Learning in a manual car changing gear is an important part of driving, and unless you know how and when to change gear you'll get that jerk or shaking when changing gear.

Two most common reasons why a manual car jerk when change gear. One because you lift the clutch up too quickly after changing gear. And second is because the the gear isn't correct for the speed you're driving. The clutch should come up slowly and smoothly after changing gear, and the gear should match the speed when changing gear.
