The facilities throughout WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine

Описание к видео The facilities throughout WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine

Explore the cutting-edge facilities of Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Founded in 1899 with just a $60 shed, the college established the first university facility dedicated solely to veterinary medicine. Early milestones include McCoy and Wegner Halls, named after visionary college deans.

Wegner Hall, an early hub for pre-clinical education, and Science Hall, originally housing veterinary science and now the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, mark significant transitions.
The Veterinary Building, initially for surgical needs and now commonly known as the Admin Annex, laid foundations for growth. McCoy Hall, in 1961, introduced the college's first teaching hospital, pivotal for veterinary care and education.

Bustad Hall, renamed in 1984 after Dr. Leo K. Bustad, a pioneer in the human-animal bond, houses administration, lecture facilities, and the veterinary student lounge.

Key expansions include the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the Pacific Northwest’s largest veterinary referral center since 1996, and the Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility, unique in its molecular biology focus.

Both built in 2010, the Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building and the Biotechnology and Life Sciences Building, with its 128,000 square feet of lab space, further elevate WSU's research prowess.

In 2012, the Paul G. Allen Center for Global Health bolstered WSU's infectious disease research capabilities. In 2022, the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory continues to safeguard animal health.

Today, WSU’s Veterinary Complex encompasses the Allen Center, the Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Bustad Hall, McCoy Hall, Wegner Hall, and the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory—a hub of cutting-edge veterinary science and global health research.
