How To Make Fresh Taro Leaves Delicious Seafood Laing

This is a Filipino recipe that I improvised. This is so delicious and so easy to make. Great for any occasion. Try making it for yourself. All ingredients and tips are listed below.

Pot I used: 4 inches deep by 13 inches wide

INGREDIENTS

SHRIMPS
400g. of fresh frozen shrimps (thawed)
seasoned with: 1/4 tsp of table salt & 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of chopped garlic
1 tbsp of chopped white onion

ANCHOVIES
50g. of anchovies
1 tbsp of chopped garlic
1 tbsp of olive oil

TARO LEAVES INGREDIENTS
3 packs of fresh taro leaves (400g each)
70g of chicarron/fried pork rinds
3 pieces of green chili peppers (sliced) see video
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of chopped garlic
4 tbsp of chopped white onions
4 tbsp of chopped ginger
400ml of coconut milk
200ml of water
2 tbsp of chicken stock mix
1/2 tsp of ground black pepper

Tips:

1. Most Asian supermarkets sell these fresh taro leaves. In some countries these are very easy to find and so affordable. In the country I live in, these taro leaves in my own opinion are expensive. I paid close to 4$ for each pack.

2. Chicarron/fried pork rinds are optional, especially those who does not eat pork at all.

3. Do not overcooked the shrimps, two minutes cooking is enough.

4. You may wear gloves to avoid some itch while cutting the taro leaves.

5. This is a delicious easy recipe, try cooking it for yourself.
