2023 UKI CANADIAN OPEN / WAO TEAM CANADA TRYOUTS

I'm late to the social posting party, but I'm still in an Agility hangover (I'm sure many can relate!). We had some extra travel hurdles on the way home, and then I jumped right back into work, but that hasn't stopped me from riding a high this past week!

🙌First, Aaron & Joe, and the entire FlatOut Dogs team absolutely killed it as the hosts of this year's event. I didn't know how they could possibly top themselves from last year, but they did! So much organization and thought went into this event to make it (IMO) one of the best competitions of the whole year. I'm already looking forward to 2026 when it will return out East!

💙Second, The McCann Clan! Instructors, Students, and Online Students - You are all great representations of our Agility programs! As always, I was a proud coach & friend. It was a busy weekend with multiple rings, but I enjoyed watching many of your runs! You guys work so hard to prepare for these big events, and it's amazing to see the amazing teamwork & connection out there. Perfect results or not, you all did fabulous! There were lots of course challenges & skills required during this event, and it made me smile to have so many of you tell me that you felt confident & prepared. I also loved hearing the phrase "The McCann Zip" since so many of you nailed the MANY threadle wraps we had on these courses! #EasyPeasy #ZipAndGo. Huge Congrats to you all!

🫶Third, my Health Care Team! You can't perform your best if you don't feel your best! Thank you, Carrie Fisher, Katarina Liberte, Roxanne Pardiac & Chelsea Loube, for ensuring Bee & I are feeling great! I have so much appreciation for all of you.

🍷Fourth (it seems weird to write that, but I'm going with the theme here). The Pea to my Pod - Jme Moreau. There is never a dull moment with us! Jaim is a driving machine, and I hope I entertained her well! We always seem to have exciting travel adventures, but I think we pretty much conquered that, too! #BetterTogether

🐾Last but never the least - THE DOGS! 5-Alive had a blast competing in Speedstakes this year. We didn't have clear rounds, but he listened well for a baby dog. This dog's future is bright, and I can't wait to see where another year of training brings us!

This event was all about Bee-Line. While I was there to compete at the Open and to try to make the 2024 WAO Team Canada, my mind was also focused on prepping for the upcoming AWC in October. It was our last big event, and I wanted to use the opportunity to run boldly and not play it safe. I felt so connected with Bee this past weekend, and we had an unbelievable weekend together. I'm so grateful for her current health, and with a few more years under our belt now, I feel like I can completely trust her training. It's ALL on me now! I had a few slip-ups, but I felt like I mostly was the handler she deserved! She truly is my dream dog.
