I welcome your comments and feedback. I purchased my mower in March 2000 and the original factory battery lasted 11 years until April 2011. Results are based on living in Sacramento, California mowing for about 30 minutes a week for 10 months per year. Also, this is my first ever You Tube video...hope its helpful.
I replaced the battery after another 7 years and it worked.
Epilogue: In March 2020 after twenty good years, the charging system would not recharge the battery. B+D does not make replace parts. I Googled, You-Tubed and scoured forums and no one had a fix that worked. The only thing that worked was to take the battery out, charge it with a car charger and put it back in. That worked!...but too much of a hassle. So I sold it at a garage sale for $50. I miss it, but the Royabe replacement is a joy to use and it has headlights. Most manufactures are opting for removable multi-use batteries that can be used in an assortment of tools. They are expensive and likely wont last as long as a lead acid battery, but times are changing and thats what is on the market. Thank you to all the viewers that watched over the years!
