Ember is an action 3D CGI animation created in 3DS Max. Curtis’s work revolves around character animation, timing and cinematography, a melting pot of techniques and ideas inspired by a variety of Curtis’s all-time favourite animations. Curtis wishes for nothing more than to instil into his audience the joy, fear and adrenaline he experiences when animating. The satisfaction of seeing the scenes from his mind’s eye manifest on screen makes the animation its own reward.

Inspired by Grand Tales and Nordic Legends Curtis has crafted his own take on the Germanic stories of old. Two strange beings awake amongst the gorgeous, barren wastes of a twisted, foreign realm. Unaware of who or what they are, groggy from their slumber they give into primal rage, and unrelenting terror. Eventually, they are gripped by a single overpowering purpose.

After his Masters, Curtis aspires to become a character animation specialist working in film, games, internet shorts and anything else that takes his fancy.
