Recognising and defining roles in the PPI workforce: a career competencies framework

Описание к видео Recognising and defining roles in the PPI workforce: a career competencies framework

It has been identified that roles supporting patient and public involvement (PPI) are wide-ranging and varied in their scope and require a breadth of skills and abilities. However, this is not often recognised through job descriptions or grades and staff are expected to do these roles with little or no training.

A clearer identification of these specialised skills can improve resource allocation for PPI staffing and activities, thereby also improving the sustainability and impact of PPI on research.

In this session, speakers Polly Kerr and Stan Papoulias present a competencies framework that was developed in response to a national survey of PPI staff about their roles and experience. The webinar will help you understand: why the framework was needed; how the framework was developed; how you could adopt the framework in your setting; and recommendations for the future.
