and I'm home - Puella Magi Madoka Magica ED [Piano]

My piano cover of "and I'm home" - the duet character song for Kyoko Sakura and Sayaka Miki, which is the ending song for episode 9 of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. When I created this piano cover, I tried to avoid using the fancy techniques that you might have seen a lot in recent popular piano cover videos. Although such arrangement looks charming, I can't see much consideration but piling up various techniques regardless of whether they are suitable. I hope my piano cover is musical and lyrical so the audiance won't feel bored.

This song is composed of B Minor sections (verse) and C Minor sections (chorus), which are cleverly linked together. I'll label "F♯ F♯ E D F♯" at 0:10 as MOTIF A and "C G G F E♭" at 1:09 as MOTIF B. Both motifs contain this succession of notes Ⅴ Ⅴ Ⅳ Ⅲ in their respective modes. I played them many times as an inner voice in order to emphasize the importance of these motifs. For example, motif A is used at 1:25 left hand, while motif B appears starting from 0:55 and 1:16.

In the original song there's an ostinato "B A B" (with A on the strong beat) recurring throughout the music. Of course I can't do that in my piano arrangement, but I kept a few so it's not completely abandoned. I wrote an ossia for the big jumps starting from 2:24, and it sounds even better than the current version. If you would like to play my arrangement, please try the ossia!
