So, there's a bit of a story with this one.

I was on the creative team for "Turnabout: an Ace Attorney Musical" - a 100% fan-made online project retelling the events of "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" as a standalone musical. During the writing process, Abby (one of our music team members) came up with the lyrics to a parody of "Dead Mom" from Beetlejuice as sung by Maya Fey called "Dead Guy." I came back a few hours later with a recording of her lyrics over a karaoke track, and it became an iconic bit among the crew.
On November 25th, 2022, Act I of the show was released onto YouTube, now complete with an entire cast of voice actors & Ace Attorney-style visuals to match. Act II wouldn't be complete for a few more months, so we decided to host a few themed cabaret-style livestreams on TAAAM's YouTube channel. For our Valentine's Day-themed cabaret, I asked Abby if I could revamp "Dead Guy" and bring in some of our voice actors to fill out the cast. She agreed, and the song was first publicly heard on February 11, 2023. However, this livestream wasn't able to remain up on the channel, and was made private as soon as it ended.
This past Friday and Saturday (11/24 & 11/25) marked the 16th birthday of the original Phoenix Wright Musical Project AND the 1-year anniversary of TAAAM Act I respectively, and I figured there was no better time for a permanent release of this goofy little song. So, with one more round of revamps, here it is! Happy anniversary, Turnabout Musical! Look at what you've wrought. 💙
