A recent article documents how several publishers of academic journals are having to shut down numerous journals infected by research fraud. A comparable fraud was exposed in 2019 showing how the British Museum purposely withheld data from the Journal "Nature" claiming they had proved the Shroud of Turin to be medieval with "95% confidence." Under duress from a FOIA request, after 30 years, all the data was finally provided to French researcher, Tristan Cassabianca who headed a research team that published their results in the peer-reviewed journal, Archaeometry, from Oxford University. They showed conclusively that data was purposely withheld to achieve statistical reliability. If all the data had been submitted, it would have failed the test and the sample would have been declared invalid for determining the carbon date of the Shroud. This is very reminiscent of recent scandals with proof it has been going on for a long time.
