Receiving a power ring can be a life-changing event, even for someone who already has powers of their own. To wear a ring is to expose yourself to an overwhelmingly intense concentration of emotion that forces your true nature to the surface, reinforcing what you've always known about yourself while also facilitating your growth in an entirely new direction. DC Comics is filled with heroes and villains, each with decades of history, who have worn Lantern rings at one time or another...and some weather the emotional storm just fine, while others walk away from the experience forever changed.
