રાજ્યમાં કોઇપણ વિસ્તારમાં અધિકૃત ઇલેકટ્રીકલ કોન્ટ્રાકટર હેઠળ વીજળીનું કામ કરતી વ્યક્તિ તેવા નિયત અનુભવના પ્રમાણપત્ર સાથે વાયરમેન કે સુપરવાઇઝરની પરીક્ષામાં બેસવા અરજી કરે તો પ્રવેશ આપવામાં આવે છે. ભારતીય વીજ નિયમો, 1956ના નિયમ-3 હેઠળ જનરેશન, ટ્રાન્સમીશન, ડીસ્ટ્રીબ્યુશન યા યુટીલાઇઝેશન સાથે સંકળાયેલ માન્ય સંસ્થાઓ દ્વારા અધિકૃત કરાયેલ વ્યક્તિઓ પણ આવું પ્રમાણપત્ર રજૂ કરે તો પ્રવેશ આપવામાં આવે છે. વાયરમેનની પરીક્ષા રાજ્યમાં 1. અમદાવાદ, 2. વડોદરા, 3. સુરત, 4. વલસાડ, 5. મહેસાણા/પાટણ, 6. રાજકોટ, 7. ભાવનગર, 8. જૂનાગઢ 9.ભૂજ ખાતે સામાન્ય રીતે પ્રત્યેક વર્ષના મે-જૂન અને ઓકટોબર-નવેમ્બર એમ બે વખત લેવામાં આવે છે. આવી પરમીટ ધારણ કરનાર વ્યક્તિ અધિકૃત વાયરમેન તરીકે લાયસન્સ કોન્ટ્રાકટર હેઠળ કામ કરી શકે છે.
