South Africans will be spoiled for choice in the coming 2024 elections as more and more political formations aim to contest the country's 2024 general elections. One more political party led by a former Mkhonto We Sizwe Chief of Military Intelligence and retired Chief of Defense Intelligence General Moamela 'Mojo' Motau and others will be launching next week.

These former ANC members say the ruling party has lost its way and abandoned its cause when it adopted neo-liberal policies. This adds to the number of new political formations, including the African Congress for Transformation led by Ace Magashule and the African Radical Economic Transformation Alliance led by Carl Niehaus.

Professor Kealeboga Maphunye, Professor of African Politics, at the Department of Political Sciences UNISA, joins us virtually to discuss whether this is a sign of democracy at work or a desperate political outlook in the country.
