नाम तो काटे जा रहे हैं और एक दो नहीं बल्कि लाखों की तादाद में. SIR के पहले फेज़ में 65 लाख से ज़्यादा लोगों के नाम काटे गए हैं. इसमें पूर्णिया से 2.73 लाख, कटिहार से 1.84 लाख, अररिया से 1.58 लाख और किशनगंज से 1.45 लाख और ये सीमांचल के ज़िले से हैं. जहां मुसलमानों की आबादी बिहार के दूसरे हिस्सों के मुकाबले ज़्यादा हैं. सीमांचल के मुस्लिम-बहुल इलाकों में लोगों की शिकायतें बताती हैं कि उनके नाम बिना सूचना के काट दिए गए. भले ही उनके पास वोटर आईडी हो आधार और राशन कार्ड जैसे दस्तावेज़ मौजूद हैं.

Names are being deleted, and not just one or two but in lakhs. In the first phase of SIR, names of more than 65 lakh people have been deleted. These include 2.73 lakh from Purnia, 1.84 lakh from Katihar, 1.58 lakh from Araria and 1.45 lakh from Kishanganj and these are from the districts of Seemanchal. Where the population of Muslims is more than in other parts of Bihar. Complaints of people in Muslim-dominated areas of Seemanchal show that their names were deleted without any information. Even if they have documents like voter ID, Aadhaar and ration card.
