It's been a year since Marc Poppcke last featured on Silicone Soul's Darkroom Dubs label. His 2009 'See My Eyes' release with Virginia was a label highlight, and his remix of the Scottish duo's album track 'Dust Ballad II' on Soma from last summer, further enhanced his reputation as a wonderfully talented producer. The Berliner's talents for creating beautifully deep and melodic house music have seen him release on labels including, Freerange, Suara, Kina, Ostwind and Diynamic.

Fellow Berlin resident Alex Niggemann has, over the past few years, built a strong reputation for his driving, percussive releases for labels such as Supernature, 8Bit, Bla Bla and Bloop. His music is always a firm favourite in the boxes of his peers, and he is currently riding high in the charts of many with his 'Take Control and Use Me' EP. Having remixed each others work a number of times, it is a surprise to find that Alex and Marc have actually only ever released two singles as a duo. 2008's 'L'aurora', the debut release of the Moonpool label was a stunning and original piece of work, and January of this year saw the pair unveil the funky 'Berlin Down The House' single on Bloop.

Now its time for Alex and Marc to once again match their sounds and skills on the 'Sleepless Nights' EP. A side 'Keep it On' seems to be the soundtrack to a wildlife excursion at dusk. The sun is setting and the beats are warm as one group of beast's settle, another begins to rise as the track's exotic synth drops add to the anticipation.

On the flip 'Sleepless Nights' we are most definitely out under the stars in full-on jungle mode. Creature noise, king-kong Timpani rolls, wonderful percussion, spooky flute all make for a brilliantly exciting, main-room-monster. On the remix are non-other than label heads Silicone Soul. Their 'Hypno House Dub' sees the duo at their best, taking the original on a depth defying trip.
