In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about relations between kingdom of Marwar and Mughal empire. In 1708 the Rajput rebelled against the Mughals. The Ruler of Marwar, raja Ajit Singh was son of Jaswant singh, who fought under the command of ShahJahan against Aurangzeb while Aurangzeb and Dara Sikoh were engaged in battle for the throne. Jaswant singh lost the Battle of Dharmatpur against joint forces of Aurangzeb and Murad baksh on 15 April, 1658. Jaswant singh’s father also fought against Shahjahan when he rebelled against Jahangir. Aurangzeb killed Prithviraj Singh, son of Jaswant Singh and he died desolate on 28 December 1678.
