Fox & Locke Leipers Fork TN Thursday Open Mic Night

For those who follow my social medias, you’ve probably seen my posts already. But for those who don’t: life is ever-changing and I am on the pursuit for happiness! Lately I’ve still been feeling lost trying to figure out who I am and what I’m meant to do in this life. I have big dreams and a big heart. Well, my head and my heart came into an agreement that I needed to get away from Michigan for a while. I booked a trip to go visit with my family down south. A change of scenery, some family lovin and a big mental break to hopefully find some peace and clarity. Just a little over a week ago I left the Michigan blues behind me and headed for Alabama. Then, last Friday my cousin & I headed down near Panama City FL to visit with her son, my extended cousin. On Sunday we attended his church in town & got introduced to another member who is a musician/producer at local studio 812. He extended an invitation to come check out the studio the next day! I got to sing for him a VERY familiar John Denver tune and we did some talkin..Another musician, ‪@gagecowartmusic‬ just happened to drop by the studio while we were there and he played us one of his upcoming songs! Always expect the unexpected! My trip doesn’t stop there! One of the main reasons I came down here was to check out Nashville & experience a little bit of Broadway street. I also had the intentions of either singing at an open mic or karaoke if anything, but didn’t have my heart set in case things didn’t work out. I looked into a few different open mic nights and stumbled upon Fox & Locke outside of Nashville. We purchased cover tickets in advance but there was no guarantee that I’d make the list for open mic. I prayed up to the Lord really hard and said “if it’s meant to be, I pray I’m able to do this while I’m here.” So, during the daytime hours we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, ate at Margaritaville on Broadway, and also got to witness ‪@TanyaTuckerOfficial‬ parade down Broadway on her horse! All within the midst of Tanya I finally got confirmation that I secured a slot at open mic! I was floored! My heart was about to burst out of my chest! Like I said EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!! So finally, Thursday, May 2nd Open Mic Night @ Fox & Locke. I was able to showcase my voice in singing one of my own called “Still That Country Kid” and also a cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. It seems there’s been a theme this whole trip. I want to thank the emcees Nick & Alex for making me feel so welcomed & giving me a home I can come back to! My mind is still trying to process everything that has been happening! I have been sending praises up to God for all of these blessings and opportunities he’s sent my way within the week! Thank you to everyone who continues to listen to me sing, sharing my singing videos, and the support of my dreams! Like I said before years ago, even if it’s gonna take me baby steps I’ll continue to pursue my love for music!
