The Tamanique Waterfalls are only a 30 minute drive from Playa El Tunco in El Salvador, and are the perfect adventure destination for locals and tourists alike. The hike down to the waterfalls is beginner/intermediate friendly and is about 2.5 miles. Once there you can swim in the natural crystal clear pools below the falls or if you're feeling super adventurous you can jump off the cliffs into the water down below. Just watch your footing because the rocks can be very slippery. The water is a little chilly but only worth mentioning if you suffer from cold urticaria like me. Make sure to save some of your strength because the hike back up is mostly uphill and also 2.5 miles. I am so happy I went and so glad you came with us! This is a bucket list experience for sure!
