This video is a blueprint to a new approach in teaching Science, especially to young minds (classes 6 to 10)
Key Features
1) All of Science and Mathematics will be taught in a historical context. Students will relive the key moments of discovery through exercises that are designed to simulate the context in which the discoveries happened. For instance, we will derive Kepler's laws in the exact manner that he did by using the same data that was available to him. Students will design the experiment set up by Galileo that 1st modeled a physical phenomena into a mathematical equation. Similarly we will, look at Alexander graham bell's original circuit diagram of the 1st telephone and figure out its mechanism. Same applies to mathematics, we will solve a bridge problem and experience the exact moment that Graph theory was born. There will be countless such examples within the program.
2) Assembling the mathematical tool box
Through a series of 20 exercises, we assemble a mathematical tool box from scratch without needing to summon any preexisting mathematical knowledge. Students will then know which tools to employ to solve a particular problem.
3) Stories behind the equations of Physics
Focus is shifted from doing algebraic manipulations to why they are being done. Why are we make those extra substitutions and arriving at new equations ... just so that we fill up the pages and don't lose marks or is there something meaningful to these seemingly mundane tasks ? Basically we look at the anatomy of the equations and decipher the deep meanings they are trying to convey.
4) Finally we apply all the acquired knowledge to various engineering disciplines (planning a trip to moon, analyzing load worthiness of the Golden gate bridge, planning power supply for a town, drawing up a circuit diagram for our dream home etc). This is in keeping with the STEM spirit
5) Emphasis is also laid on learning techniques with various methods employed throughout the course. Students will be taught the method of concept mapping which helps tie many concepts together (at times from different disciplines).
6) At the conclusion of the program students will have a clear idea about the various avenues and revenues in various scientific disciplines. This will empower them to make an informed career choices. For instance, a student securing a top rank decides to take civil engineering because he/she sees the potential in the infrastructure sector and recognizes his/her own unique abilities in understanding and designing structures.

The overarching goal is to empower future custodians of the planet with the right tools so that they lead us into a more promising future.
