Best I can be - a song I wrote 2017 and recorded 2019.
This music video was one of the biggest projects I´ve done. I really worked hard to stay as true as I possibly could to the vision I had in mind.
The process of this video was very much about following my intuition and enjoying the incredible synscronicities that occurred!

My two major challenges were; how am I going to find a male dancer and also; how will I find a suitable horse (with a horse owner saying yes)?
As always I was very observant on how the answer would come. And strangely enough an amazingly talented male-dancer started to work together with me at my daytime job. Mattias Disman! He said yes! And I was terrified; I don´t consider myself a dancer, could I do this?
He helped me involve a talented dance choreographer Nathalie Quist in the project whom had worked with Mattias before.

And on Fb I also saw a co-worker posting a picture on a horse she was riding at the time. I asked and the owner said yes! I looked for a sign if this was the "right" horse. I had to meet the horse and ask:) I laughed when I found out that her name was "Melodie"😅 Ok, she was the one. I didn´t meet her that often but I grew very found of her. She was the coolest horse ever; I could ride her without helmet and without the rein. As I really went outside the box and laborated with fabrics, she was so cool about it and just adjusted herself to the situation and was very grounded as I played around. It was 20 years since I last ride a horse and I was proud of myself that I had it in me still. I knew how to do it!

We recorded during Winter time. It was very cold both in the barn where we danced and outside as I was riding. But in the video it looks like a summer´s day or at least spring time. In my vision I saw how I was riding through the snow. Well, some compromises had to be made. Thanks to Maria Holmer at Torsberga Gård in Eskilstuna giving us access to her barn!

As we rehearsed the dance I said to Nathalie (the dance choreographer) I didn´t want her to hold back in the chopreography - challenge me! I can learn! It was important that we didn´t hold back expressing the essence of the song. And yes, I was challenged! 😁 Was dizzy for hours afterwards in the beginning, almost threw up. Several times Mattias had to physically hold me because I was so dizzy with all the twists and turns as I lost my balance.

I also had the ambition to sew my own dress so I started to design the dress but later I realized I didn´t have the time to actually sew it myself. So I hired Lena på "Siluett" to help me out!

One sequence was filmed at the aula of the former "Mälardalens högskola". No audience - which was another compromise but it worked out fine.

I am proud of the result, I did things in this video I didn´t know I was capable of. We recorded 6 hours in that barn and Karl Ohlsson filmed us.
