Top to bottom at Iwatake ski resort. Hakuba springtime turns in the snow.

Описание к видео Top to bottom at Iwatake ski resort. Hakuba springtime turns in the snow.

Some stunning spring weather here in Hakuba with the sun shining bright, not a breath of wind and not a cloud in the sky. Just perfect for a few slushy runs and a few beers on one of the best viewing platforms in the valley. Iwatake is fast becoming one of the most popular resorts in the valley for all year round activities. For the snow season, even though it is one of the smaller resorts, it still has a lot to offer. The top to bottom run we do is really good as a groomed piste and even better with 30 cms of fresh powder on it. Plenty of side hits to make it more challenging. They have some excellent tree runs there too and the park is getting bigger and better each year. The resort really has something for everyone. Make sure you put it on your list as a must visit.
We also did another trip up on the Tsugaike ropeway. This time taking some tea and cakes for a little tea party with the family during the school holidays. This is a spectacular area and if you are here during the spring time and the weather cooperates then be sure to make your way up there. The ski back right down to the base is going to take you 20 - 30 minutes and is probably the longest ski run in Japan. Certainly a thigh burner.
Both resorts are excellent places to visit for non skiers also.

This weeks drink of choice was a Lazy Garibaldi. Usually you would use fresh oranges to mix with the Campari however it is not citrus season so we go the lazy option and open up a carton. Give the juice a shake for some froth on the top.
