Topic: Mindville: Where Science and Spirituality Meet

Mindville is the brainchild of award-winning filmmaker Nick Day and consciousness theorist Stuart Hameroff. Mindville is the title of a major animated motion picture as well as its main location - a virtual funfair dedicated to consciousness, reality and the universe.

In the film, our heroes, Klaus and Shahanna, half a world apart, unexpectedly face death, question their existence, and mysteriously transform into animated versions of themselves in a virtual world, causing even further questioning of reality. They meet, and in search of answers are taken by their guide, a free-floating brain named Nigel, to the magical funfair of Mindville, where rides and attractions relate to consciousness, reality and spirit. These include the Giant Brain Pavilion, Einstein's Space-Time Continuum, Schrödinger's Cat, Williams James' Stream of Consciousness, Yoga Pagoda, Brain-in-a-Vat, Plato's Cave, Journey to the Planck Scale, Meditation Station, Shamanic Ritual, and the Zombie Blues Bar. Musical numbers include 'I'm your brain', 'You think, therefore you are', and the vampy 'Soul organ baby'. As they piece together the puzzle, Klaus and Shahanna fall in love, but then follow separate paths. They meet again at Mindville's climactic Big Bang blowout, where they deepen their awareness to true existence, ripples in the fabric of the universe. Klaus and Shahanna awaken, reunited in the flesh.

Filmmaker Nick Day gives an overview of the development of this landmark project with images and scenes from Mindville. He will describe its challenges, and potential spinoffs including educational video games, apps, television, live events, interactive installations, books, music, a graphic novel, and even theme parks. Nick will also share his and Stuart's vision for entertaining, educating and enlightening audiences worldwide about the convergence of science, consciousness, spirituality, and love.
