Cutting a tree trunk with Deepeeka Feltwell spatha style sword.

The sword was blunt, with a 1mm edge, and weighted approx. 1.2 kg. It came with a scabbard.

I used a hammer grip but the edge of the pommel was resting against the inner edge of the palm. Thumb and forefinger were rather loose, the grip was mostly held with three fingers. At impact all fingers were tightened momentarily.
