Secrets of the Sacred Lake | Full Documentary

Описание к видео Secrets of the Sacred Lake | Full Documentary

In an almost untouched corner of North East Asia, 3200 metres above sea level on the Tibetan plateau, lies the largest lake in China; Qinghai Hu - also known in Tibetan and Mongolian language as "The Blue Lake."
The lake is in particular sacred to the Tibetans inhabiting these remote altitudes, and they see it as their religious call to protect the local environment.
In the first episode of the series "Lakes on the Roof of the World,"
we travel to hidden islands, where foreigners reportedly never set foot before. We meet the Tibetan nomads, whose traditional lifestyle is challenged by the Chinese government; the Buddhist nuns of the secluded Lotus Monastery; and a 'Dragon's head lute' player passing on his ancient musical heritage.
