It is of course well known that the Voyager space probes were launched in 1977. What isn't well known is that JPL (who built the probes for NASA) had serious difficulties completing the probes in time for the scheduled launch. This lead them to request help from Swedish child prodigy Mad Mac. Thus the Reverburn drummer helped to complete the space probes and secure a timely launch of the two probes.

Another well known fact about the Voyager probes is that they carry a golden record that contains pictures and sounds of Earth, along with symbolic directions for playing the record and data detailing the location of Earth. What isn't well known (in fact this is the first time this is mentioned in public) is that the record doesn't contain what the general public has been informed it does. Instead the record holds about an hour worth of Reverburns music. Yes it's true! In the last hour before the completion of the probes Mad Mac secretly managed to exchange the official golden record for one seemingly identical to it, with the exception of it containing Reverburns' music. This was pulled off thanks to Thoreador's extensive experience as a secret agent. Through his contacts he managed to produce an exact copy of the record and smuggle it to the facility where the probes were being built. One obstacle remained. When Mad mac was about to make the exchange he found the construction room being filled with his co-workers. This obstacle was overcome by a last minute manoeuvre. Stollmeister was called in as a special guest to oversee the probe. Stollmeister, as a way of thanking JPL and NASA, performed one of his horrendous flute solos to "entertain" the workers. This lead to the workers all suddenly remembering meetings and phone calls they had to make. The room was empty within minutes. This left Stollmeister alone with Mad Mac (who had prepared for the flute solo beforehand by wearing earplugs). The swap was then possible to make while avoiding notice.

Replacing a record containing greetings from all over the world with your own music might seem like a very self-absorbed thing to do. But Reverburns were acting in the interest of all mankind. Had the original record been found by hostile aliens the earth would have seemed like an easy target, ripe for invasion. Upon hearing the majestic music of Reverburns any alien would think twice before invading earth. Thus it might very well be that Reverburns are the unsung saviours of mankind.

This live-jam recounts the exciting adventure and celebrates the fact that Reverburns, rather than Beethoven, Mozart and Chuck Berry, were the first musicians whose music was sent out in space. Stollmeister used his Digitech Hardwire DL-8 set for tape delay to create the eerie echoes heard throughout the jam.
