This method is perfect for rectangular or square-shaped plots, used commonly in urban and rural survey projects.

🔹 2️⃣ Heron’s Formula (হেরনের সূত্রে আয়তক্ষেত্রের ক্ষেত্রফল)

This formula is mostly used when you know all three sides of a triangle or when you want to find the area without measuring height.
But here, we’ll apply Heron’s Formula to the diagonal triangle parts of a rectangular plot.


1️⃣ Rectangle Formula → Area = L × B
2️⃣ Heron’s Formula → Area = √[s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)]
3️⃣ Square Root Formula → Area = √(P1×P2×Q1×Q2)

Use them wisely based on:

Let’s say you went for land measurement using a measuring tape or total station.
You noted 4 sides:

AB = 120 ft

BC = 80 ft

CD = 120 ft

DA = 80 ft

✅ Apply Rectangle Formula → 120×80 = 9600 sq.ft
✅ Convert → 9600 ÷ 435.6 = 22 Decimal
✅ Result checked with Heron’s & Square Root method → same!
