Codie Eash, Visitor Services Coordinator at the Gettysburg Seminary Ridge Museum, delivers a lecture on the planning, dedication, and reaction to Gettysburg's first Confederate Monument: the memorial to the First Maryland Battalion at Culp's Hill, erected in 1886. This is from a presentation at Ye Olde Sulphur Spa Historical Society in York Springs, PA, on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018.

NOTE: Due to technical shortcomings, only the first 17 minutes of the recording is present in this video. I apologize for not having the final three-quarters of the discussion here, including the main portion on the monument itself.
