Amercian science fiction author Frank Herbert known for his very popular Dune series once wrote: "The function of science fiction is not always to predict the future but sometimes to prevent it."

Sometimes sci-fi writers have this weird talent, where they imagine a future that in some cases could come true. We're looking into the world of dystopian fiction and how sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.

Guest Robert Sawyer is the only Canadian writer to have won the three major awards for best science fiction novel of the year: the World Science Fiction Society's Hugo Award, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America's Nebula Award and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award.
