The sales of petrol two-wheelers in India have been experiencing fluctuations, with some companies witnessing declines in domestic sales while others show growth in exports or specific segments.

For instance, Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp have faced challenges in domestic sales, whereas TVS Motor Company has shown resilience with growth in certain areas.

Bajaj Auto has faced challenges in the domestic market, with a decline in petrol two-wheeler sales. In February 2025, domestic sales dropped by more than 15 percent, with 136,688 units sold this year compared to 161,903 units in February 2024. A difference of more than 25,000 vehicles.

However, Bajaj Auto has shown resilience in the export market, with a 23% year-on-year growth in exports, reaching 153,280 units.
Out of the 7 models 5 did badly. Freedom the CNG bike managed to sell just 1,027 bikes so in a way it too can be considered a flop.

The only silver lining is that Bajaj Auto managed to sell 21,000 Chetak electric scooters.
