BLACKWATER! APISTOGRAMMA, ALTUM angels, GULPER CATS and SATANOPERCA in the Rio Atabapo

Apistogramma psammophila (dwarf cichlid) , Crenicichla spec. (pike cichlid), Pterophyllum altum (altum angel) , Heros libirifer (mouthbrooding severum) and Asterophysus batrachus (gulper catfish) in the Rio Atabapo! This is a real blackwater habitat, with very acidic pH 4.5-5.0 and not measurable hardness, fine white silica sand substrate and large boulders.
