Lumsden Campground Dispersed Campsite - free Stanislaus National Forest along the Tuolumne River near Groveland, California and Yosemite National Park. Nice 3.6 mile hike from Lumsden Campground to South Fork Campground and then on to Lumsden Bridge and Campground. Great views of the Tuolumne River. We were the only one on the trail and part of the road is washed out along the path from South Fork Campground to Lumsden Bridge, but is passable on foot. We camped at campsite # 4 and it was right along the river with great views and access to the river edge. Lumsden Campground is located on forest rd 1N10, west of Yosemite National Park off of Tioga Rd (Highway 120). The 6 mile forest rd is a one lane road but is not one way. There are pullouts along the way in case of oncoming traffic. This is not recommended for RV's or trailers.
