Mini Countryman Electric 2024 review: New E and SE small SUVs put Volvo XC40 Recharge EV on notice

Описание к видео Mini Countryman Electric 2024 review: New E and SE small SUVs put Volvo XC40 Recharge EV on notice

The 2024 Mini Countryman has a trick up its proverbial sleeve – and a big one at that. Yep, in a sign of the times the third-generation small SUV is available with not one, but two all-electric powertrain options, with the single motor dubbed E, while the dual motor goes by SE.

While petrol-powered Countryman variants remain available, the focus is very much on the E and SE, which go tyre to tyre with the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, with the former producing 150kW of power and 250Nm of torque alongside a WLTP-rated range of 462km, while the latter musters 230kW/494Nm and 432km.

In this expert review, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson travels to Portugal to get behind the wheel of the new Countryman E and SE to find out what they have in store for Australia ahead of their local launch. Needless to say, expectations are high as they enter an increasingly competitive segment.
