Buchla/TipTop Audio 296T Programmable Spectral Processor (First Patch)

Описание к видео Buchla/TipTop Audio 296T Programmable Spectral Processor (First Patch)

Sure, the 52 HP 296T Spectral Processor is very big. And it's deep too, so check the specs if it will fit your case (52mm deep). It doesn not fit an Erica Synths Techno System case. I guess it will not fit the new MakeNoise 4 Zone case since it has elevated headers. A case with a bus board in one row (e.g. the Stealth from Intellijel, Arturia 6U) will work best (or Doepfer).
It's also power hungry taking almost 800 mA in total. It doesn't come cheap, but this is not an 'inspired by the 296' module like Fumana, Spectraphon or Sputnik. It has both the name Buchla and the magic numbers on it. And TipTop made it real.

This is a first patch video and I still have a lot to learn, test and try. So I'll revisit this little module in 2024! I've added a link to my Fumana video to get a feel of the differences. It's a module I don't use a lot because it's so big, and a normal filter is easier. But the 296T is part of my 200 series dream machine so it will always be near and it's double parking lot has been on reservation since it was announced at SuperBooth 2023. I can't say one is better than the other, but Fumana offers the 'dual 296 vocoder scenario' in one module thanks to additional 16 modulation bands especially fitted for full vocoding. Fumana is clearly inspired by the 296 and ported to the 21st century, while the 296T is a faithful recreation that's close enough to carry the name and the number.
