These stats are significant because if 81% of web uses PHP then you can imagine all the different types of businesses ( big, mid-range and small) who depend on PHP
Most website hosting companies are still hosting PHP based back end. Which means 8 out of 10 people still go this way to create their websites.
With PHP7, I think people who are already stuck with their legacy systems would stick to this with improved performance.
