NEW TIME: Issues Facing an Aging Population of HIV/AIDS Survivors

Описание к видео NEW TIME: Issues Facing an Aging Population of HIV/AIDS Survivors

A recent study, Navigating Time and Space: Experiences of Aging with Hemophilia, funded by a National Hemophilia Foundation, examined the lived experiences of people 50 and older aging with hemophilia and, for many, concurrent HIV diagnoses. The research highlights a growing issue in America: the plight of HIV/AIDS survivors and a generation who thought they would die, but lived. The data illuminate how this unique generation, the first cohort of hemophiliacs to live this long, copes with their shifting time horizons and how they are strategizing for a future. In this conversation series, we examine the findings of the study and discuss the intersectionality between aging bleeding disorder and HIV/AIDS communities.
