Herringfleet is actually in Suffolk, but is still part of the Norfolk Broads.

Norfolk Broads visitors are often enjoying Boating Holidays and don't come ashore so much to enjoy the fabulous areas that they're cruising through and this series of videos sets out to encourage people to explore a bit on foot as well as on the river.

I would encourage anybody to moor up and take a walk to Herringfleet Hills and the Smock mill on the River Waveney. It's a wonderful spot with some stunning woods which are coated with Foxgloves in spring.

Mooring can be enjoyed at either Somerleyton or Herringfleet which are a similar distance from the smock mill (which is riverside) and hence to the footpath that will take you into the intimate woodland of Herringfleet Hills which has some wonderful oaks on the lower hill and an abundance of other flora and fauna throughout.
