There I was sitting in my truck at the Tim Hortons parking lot on a Friday at 5:00pm in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, enjoying the day and planning my weekend as I sipped on the Iced Coffee I just bought at the Tim Hortons drive thru.

Then my cellphone rang, NWT Tourism was calling me, at 5:01pm on a Friday afternoon/evening! They tell me there is an exciting promotional opportunity that they thought I would be perfect for and if I would be interested. I wasn’t sure what the opportunity was, but I said if it has to do with Aurora, count me in!

Well as it turns out, Destination Canadá will be putting on a pretty cool Aurora display at the world famous GRAND CENTRAL STATION in New York City, that’s right! New York City! I said DEFINITELY!!

The next thing I know I am confirming my Covid vaccine dates, my passport, and connections and here I am having just travelled across the massive continent of North America and now landing at the La Guardia Airport in New York City! Welcome to the Big Apple! I went from -25C to +15C, that was nice!!
