On a trip to NWI Monday, I stopped by the South Shore in Hammond. I found that Hammond Gateway station was merely days away from opening, so this would be my last chance to see the original alignment in use. In just a couple days from posting, this crossing among the one to the east of it and two to the west of it will be gone forever. You can see the new crossing and signals to the right. Enjoy!
