My first take on the 24h of Le Mans, and it was amazing! I was in a team of 12 called "United Skaters", with their families feeding us and helping us in every possible way. And oh did we need that help, since the days were really, really hot (not dangerously hot, though, but I like complaining about the heat).

About the video: We've got recordings from the families and Lars, as well as my own camera which was used by some of the skaters, so it's not just me. We thought about filming during the night, too, but it was simply too dark for the camera to capture decent images.

We were very happy with the result, finishing in position 9 of the "Discovery" category with 146 laps (=611km), but that was just a bonus. The ambience is simply incredible, we had a wonderful team chemistry and every lap was exciting. And don't get me started on the night, when everything cools down a bit, fewer skaters on the track and more quiet overall, until you get to the relay zone, where during most of the night people were cheering their teams. Words can't really describe it (at least not mine), so I highly recommend you try it for yourself: grab some friends and go enjoy it, be it as an ambitious team fighting for the podium, or skating just for the fun of it. You don't have to be a pro or even a good skater to enjoy it, just be confident at skating, and that's everything you need. And you get mad respect for those who do it alone!


Plus, if you're as talkative as I am, you'll probably make some new friends (¡hola Cristina y Hugo y a su equipo de Murcia!).
