Don't get stranded! | Fuel stops along Highway 20 to Bella Coola BC

Highway 20 is also known as the road less traveled up in the Chilcotin/Cariboo region. It is a highway that goes all the way starting from the city of Williams Lake, all the way to the western town of Bella Coola. We had the opportunity to drive this way back in the 1st week of May 2023. The views are stunning and wildlife are often seen along the road. Highway 20 is a straight through road that goes through the mountains and forests of the region with lots of little roads and FSR's along the side so you won't run out of areas to explore! That said, with one way in and out, it is unlikely that you'll get lost driving this road. One must be alert however, while driving this way as you can run out of fuel if you don't pay attention! Highway 20 goes for 457kms, now that is more than enough for most cars full tank today, but if one forgets to fill up, the distances between gas stations can get you stranded with no cell service or cars passing by very often (about 1 or 2 cars every half hour when we were there). This video will show you the gas stations we have found along the way en route to the town of Bella Coola so you won't get stranded!
